				It’s the second 
				biggest Island, and the Monte delle Felci and Monte dei Porri, 
				extinct Volcanoes, are the highest points of the whole 
				archipelago.  
				The two hills 
				gave it its ancient name : Didyme or “twins”. 
 
				It has three 
				independently administered towns: S. Marina, Malfa and Leni.
				 
				The other 
				hamlets on the island are: Lingua, Rinella, Val di Chiesa, 
				Pollara and Torricella. 
 
				Salina is the 
				most fertile of the Aeolian Islands.  
				Grapes (from 
				which the famous sweet wine Malvasia is made) and capers are 
				grown on the island and exported all over the world.
